New Modus Operandi in the Recruitment of Drug Mules

Operation Yolanda "Bangon Pilipnas" A Releif Operation for the Victims of Typhoon haiyan.

2013 has come and gone. It was a good year although it had its share of not so good moments. Super typhoon Yolanda was one of them. Considered the worst typhoon in the world, it hit the Philippines with a vengeance. Feeling the pinch, the Filipino community in south China, particularly Filcom-Guangzhou and Barangay China in Shenzhen did their part in helping our unfortunate brothers and sisters back home.

To date, Filcom-Guangzhou and friends in China were able to send 17 jumbo boxes of in-kind goods and it was coursed through ABS_CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation. Thanks to Mr. Danny Granario of GEN-EX Cargo for helping in sending the boxes for free. During the annual Filcom Christmas party, cash donations were collected and it amounted to PHP 141, 462.00. This amount came from two sources.
1. Barangay China-Shenzhen gathered PHP67, 592.00
2. Filcom-Guangzhou and foreign friends collected PHP73, 870.00
The money was sent to GMA KAPUSO FOUNDATION. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Sally Chua and Rowin Santos for helping us send the money to the said foundation.

We would also like to acknowledge Dessa Fu of Globe for extending a big help especially during the Christmas party. There was a T-shirt auction which was a huge success during the Christmas party and this germ of an idea came from the fertile mind of Joseph Crisostomo. Thanks for that! The winning bid amounted to 2300 RMB.

We are so thankful to all our ‘kababayans’ and friends from around the globe who in one way or another extended their helping hand for this very noble cause!
